Don MacLaren joined the OfficeLease team in early 1984 to help blaze the tenant representation trail that has served as the foundation for the firm’s success. After a 35-year multifaceted career with Exxon in which his duties ranged between research and development and authoring 30 patents to new business development, he ended his career as vice president of the then newly formed real estate department of Exxon Enterprises.

Don’s keen interest and passion for economic analysis has made him a valuable partner in guiding clients toward making their best real estate decisions.  Now semi-retired he continues to apply this same ability to managing his stock portfolio.

Originally from Brooklyn, Don holds Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.  He was an active alumnus having served as president of the Engineering School Alumni Association and the Alumni Federation.  He has written over 150 Real Estate columns for Venturer, the Northwest Venture Group monthly newsletter as well as a number of other local publications.

Well into his 80's, MacLaren is an still an avid back country skier and hiker.  He started climbing mountains at age 15 – and has scaled all 46, 4,000 foot peaks in the New Hampshire’s White Mountains.  He says he has no plans to stop anytime soon.
